Government did not Declare Herdmen as Terrorists - Garba Shehu

The Nigeria presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu in an interview on Channels TV says the  government did not declare herdsmen, who kill people, as terrorists.

Adding that Fulani herdsmen are “only criminal gangs”. And they are being dealt with by security agencies according to the law of the nation.

He said: There is a difference between a criminal activity and a terrorist activity.

The Indigenous People of Biafra like Boko Haram has a territory they have carved out to themselves as a sovereign state of its own.

They have shown the willingness to invade other neighbouring states. This is not acceptable to the law of the country.

Last Friday, the defence headquarters declared the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a “militant terrorist” organisation. 

The federal high court in Abuja order the group it's removal from legal jurisdiction. Following the Severe criticisms assailed the action.
